The St. Louis Recorder Society (SLURS) was founded in 1996 to give recorder players in the greater St. Louis area a chance to play and learn more about their instrument. Since the fall of 1997, SLURS has enjoyed the sponsorship of the Center for the Humanities of the University of Missouri-St. Louis and meets regularly in the facilities of the UM-St. Louis Music Department. SLURS is affiliated with the American Recorder Society (ARS).
